Fox graphic shows inaccurate unemployment figure

Media Matters for America noticed a problem with an on-screen graphic Fox News Channel used Monday that showed the shift in unemployment data.

The problem? That data point for November. It’s labeled as 8.6 percent but, if you trace it back over toward, for example, March’s number, you’ll notice the dot is placed higher than it should be.

Media Matters also points out that, a few weeks ago, Fox decided to round another 8.6 percent unemployment figure up to 9 percent. And, in 2010, a misleading graphic also suggested that 15 million jobs were lost in just three months.
