‘Today’ blacks out Studio 1A windows

While the “Today Show” is across the pond at the Olympics, Studio 1A is a bit wrapped up.

The windows have been blacked out with a big advertisement promoting “A new way to look at Today.”

TVNewser has confirmed that NBC is working on changing the windows that face into the studio. “It’s not a new set but a new exterior that is being worked on. The plan is to unveil it later this month.”

Joe Michaels, director of “Today” also tweeted:

  1. I'm guessing that Studio 1A at 30 Rock is getting a makeover... and we'll likely see the finished product after the London Olympics. I notice that the weekend editions of Today and Meet The Press are on hiatus for the Olympics... and are likely to return the weekend of August 18 and 19. It remains to be seen if the main Today Show anchor desk will remain in the same location... or if Today is considering something different. Not sure that Today would want to copy CBS' This Morning and MSNBC's Morning Joe with its own round-table. NBC still has a tarnished legacy and reputation to repair and rebuild. Eric
