FX Design Group announces two appointments in creative team

FX Design Group announced two appointments to enhance the creative team in both scenic design and motion graphics. Kevin Vickers, has been promoted to Design Director and Al Lagor to Managing Director of Motion Design.

“The creativity, imagination and work ethic of these two key designers made them easy choices to lead and enhance our creative department, “said Mack McLaughlin, CEO and Creative Director of FX.” It’s rare to find talent who not only has the elusive creative gene, but also the business sense to go with it.”

Vickers has been at FX for 14 years and in that time, started as a graphic designer, working on award-winners, KRON, WESH and KOCO and the Sr. Designer on award winner KJRH. He attended Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota and has many key design projects to his credit, including REELZ Channel, Back 9 Network, and many others. He’s a film buff who has attended a Saturday night movie for over 15 years, so new ideas are never far from his brain.

Al Lagor has 20 years experience as a creative manager, and has been instrumental in developing, creating, maintaining and evolving identities for the news and sports broadcast industry. Lagor has a great sports background, having worked at The Golf Channel as Sr. Director of Graphic Design. He also executive produced the entire motion graphics project for BYU-TV, which is nominated for a BDA award for 2013. Al’s skill set includes project management, concept development, design, art direction, shoot supervision, and live action integration. He started his graphic career at WHDH in Boston, and also worked for Walt Disney attractions.
