NBC O&Os redesign apps

NBC O&Os in key markets have pushed out an update to its iOS apps that includes a redesign.

The new look uses a simplified light gray and white design that divides individual headlines into horizontal bars.

A header includes the current weather conditions and access to a menu for additional content.

In addition, the app includes the following new features, according to the App Store description:

• Now multiple items can appear in the alert bar. Look for the red arrow when breaking news happens.
• Our enhanced weather section gives you more of the information you need to plan your day, including daily reports from your trusted local weather meteorologists, real-time severe weather and school closing alerts, and a powerful interactive radar.
• See what’s trending right now by swiping left to right from the home screen.
• Watch video while scrolling through an article at the same time. Cast video from the app to your TV via AirPlay or a smart TV device on your home network.
