WorldNow eyes video, design options

Though no specifics are available, WorldNow representatives have told NewscastStudio the company will be changing the looks of its sites to look more streamlined and provide better access to the news content.

Plus, already equipped with a state-of-the-art video player and backend Web editing interface, WorldNow will be placing more focus on video applications for its clients.

FirstCom gearing up for affiliate news market

FirstCom, one of the industry’s largest and most well-known production music companies, is looking to expand its presence in the broadcast news market.

While the company has done work for some stations, including KATU-TV in Portland, Oregon, and WFMY-TV in Greensboro, N.C., company spokesperson Todd Dunlap says his firm is looking to grow in this area.

While not going into specifics, the company hopes to expand its offerings of syndicated news music packages as well as increase its overall presence in the industry.

Broadcast Design International revamps Web site

Devlin Design goes HD with Sinclair

Announced earlier this week, Devlin Design Group will be designing 14 High Definition television sets for Sinclair Broadcasting Group.

“Sinclair selected the Devlin Design Group to create the HD sets in part because of its extensive HD experience, according to Mark Nadeau, senior director of the Sinclair Broadcast Group.”

3D WX graphics add spark to forecasts

AccuWeather has introduced several improvements to its CinemaLive HD weather graphics system, which now includes 360-degree graphics architecture that allows for 3D virtual environments for weather forecasters.
