Production music enters the cloud with SmartSound
SmartSound Software has announced that Quicktracks, the company’s revolutionary new Cloud-based music customization service, will be offered by 5 Alarm Music, a division of Imagem Music Group, for use in its Cinemasounds, 1VU, First Degree Music and 5 Alarm Music libraries.

The Weather Network selects Hybrid for trackless virtual set solution
The Canadian Weather Network has selected leading virtual studios and camera tracking manufacturer, Hybrid, for its upgrade to a 24/7 on-air virtual studio look, broadcasting in HD.
The Weather Network broadcasts nationwide in Canada and reaches an average of 9 million Canadians on TV every week. They decided to move to HD in early 2011 and wanted to combine the launch with an exciting new on-air look to enhance the viewer experience. The solution needed to be both robust and efficient and able to generate a range of stunning virtual studios out of a relatively small physical studio.
NAB Show attendance up in 2011
The National Association of Broadcasters announced today the 2011 NAB Show was the world’s largest electronic media event covering filmed entertainment and the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums.

Chyron rolls out new mascot

Beat the Traffic to show off new features at NAB Show
Beat the Traffic will unveil several recent innovations to the Beat the Traffic 3D product at NAB 2011 in Las Vegas, April 11-14.
Beat the Traffic Version 6.2 also enables integration of a live, broadcast quality SDI video feed, from a traffic camera or alternate video source, rendered in full screen mode or as an inset on the 3D map. SDI video integration enables a new level of interaction between real life pictures and traffic data, delivering complete, lively, and engaging traffic reports.

615 Music to debut new music selections at NAB
615 Music continues its aggressive library release schedule of original material, and will debut six new music CDs for NAB 2011 in Las Vegas.
