Newly minted San Diego affiliate set photos, graphics posted
We’ve posted set photos and graphics from KSWB-TV, the new Fox affiliate in San Diego, Calif.
The station’s set, designed by BDI, including multiple reporting areas and a large outdoor chroma key wall and “mega map” for traffic updates. This area allows the traffic and anchor team to walk around the city, showing viewers the current conditions from a bird’s eye view. Using a jib, the map also comes with toy trucks, beach chairs and warning signs to represent hazards and local landmarks.
Couric’s HD debut comes with set tweaks

Last night’s “CBS Evening News,” the first in high def, introduced a new background on the show’s newsroom set.
Broadcast Design International revamps Web site
Just in time for NAB 2008, Broadcast Design International has revamped and relaunched its Web site. The new Web site features more pictures and information to help perspective stations.

KLAS-TV debuts new set
Las Vegas’ CBS affiliate has debuted a new set. The station previously had a set from The Express Group that was used when newscasts were converted to HD, but decided to upgrade.
The new set is a modern look from BDI, which has elements similar to the set at KXAS-TV.
The set also features a second anchor desk for use with other newscasts.

BDI adds clean, modern looks to its portfolio
The venerable Broadcast Design International has wrapped up a year that was marked by several projects that boast a clean, modern and soft look.
Known for creating top-tier sets for the “CBS Evening News with Katie Couric” and stations across the country, BDI has a reputation for designing sets with a traditional feel as well as eye-catching looks with bold colors and materials. More recent projects, however, have taken on a more modern look that seems to draw inspiration from European design.
