A look back: CBS News

Today  is the second in a series giving you a look back at the sets and graphics of past election nights. As you’ll see, the breadth and quality of the images we could find varies greatly from network to network and year to year and in many cases we don’t have material for side-by-side comparisons from the same election. 1984

For its election night coverage in 1984, CBS built a special working newsroom-style set featuring yellowish-tan walls and broad spans of glass panels. Dubbed the “CBS News Election Headquarters,” the space was stocked with plenty of (now vintage) computers and monitors.
