Giant Octopus “dives in” to new site

Giant Octopus, the Florida based motion graphics firm, has launched a non-flash site that includes a good number of videos and information. Previously, the GO site use to be rarely updated with little usable information. The company has now changed directions and has plans to continue to update the site. Another new site, version 6, is planned for August according to GO’s homepage.
Also featured on GO’s new site is a complete list of Syndicated packages available.

Giant Octopus launches v4 of its site

Television graphic designer Giant Octopus has launched version 4 of its website with lots of new samples including motion clips.
On the new site you can see clips of their recent package for Live with Regis and Kelly and clips from projects for WCBS, WABC, WSJV and others. They also have included a news section which appears to be updated much more often than before.
NewscastStudio’s hometown ABC affiliate gets new graphics

KMIZ-TV, the ABC affiliate here in Columbia, Mo. has debuted new graphics and they’re now available in the graphics section of our site.
Gannett offering two versions of Pyburn graphics to stations
Gannett, who earlier this year selected Chryon’s Axis to power its newly centralized graphics operations, will begin testing the new system in unspecified markets.
The stations will all begin using the same graphics package, designed by Pyburn Films, but will have a choice in either a red or blue toned version.
This means the station’s existing graphics packages, including fairly recent HD-ready ones by Giant Octopus are out.
Day-to-graphics will be handled via Axis’ Web-based system while more advanced graphic work and promos will be handled by a central facility in Denver.

WSB-TV set photos, graphics now online
We’ve posted photos of the latest set at WSB-TV, a modern environment designed by Broadcast Design International, as well as the station’s Giant Octopus-designed HD graphics package.

WABC-TV unveils new graphics

WABC-TV in New York has launched a new graphics package, retaining the old feel with a modern HD update. The new package uses bold blues and reds to add excitement and boldness to the Eyewitness News brand. After years of working and tweaking, WABC-TV has finally received a package that melded the blue and red color scheme to perfection. (more…)
