Orad continues to advance virtual sets and broadcast graphics industry
Its name may not be as well known as Chyron, but a little company called Orad Hi-Tec Systems is gaining traction in the North American market. Founded in 1993, Orad is largely a European company that has continued to expand and grow to meet many broadcast graphic needs.
Its mission is to “realize the potential of proven and emerging electro-optical, video and real-time image processing technologies for TV broadcasting, virtual reality and sports events, enabling Orad to provide a one stop technology shop for all its customers.”
To accomplish this, Orad has developed many product lines that include: virtual sets, interactive touch technology, augmented virtual reality and 3D graphics insertion tools among others.
‘Nightly Business Report’ debuts new look and virtual set

Broadcasting on PBS since 1979, “Nightly Business Report” debuted a new host, new modern look and virtual studio for the new year.
The new look, using yellows and blues with high tech flying parts is a vast change from the previous package. The new show has a sleek look that is very different for a PBS show. (more…)

MSNBC unveils new 3D studio

Today, MSNBC unveiled a new virtual studio for Chuck Todd to break down the election results in.
The new virtual studio matches NBC News and MSNBC’s current Decision 08 graphics package. This creates a seamless branding effect across their various election graphics from the networks of NBC. More pictures after the jump. (more…)
