Elistair drone system gives CNN unique view for Super Bowl LIII coverage

During its Super Bowl LIII coverage last month, CNN enlisted the support of an Elistair tethered drone system.

Through the use of a micro-tether and the Elistair Ligh-T drone station, the DJI Matrice 200 could stay airborne for several hours without the need for fresh batteries.

“After the Ryder Cup 2018 and the recent Peace Forum in Paris, the 53rd Super Bowl is a great opportunity to demonstrate the efficiency and safety of our systems in these environments,” said Guilhem de Marliave, Elistair CEO.

Operated by Vector Aerial, the system was placed on the roof of CNN’s Atlanta headquarters facing the Mercedes Benz Stadium. The drone operated 45 meters above the rooftop, providing pre and post-game views on the network.
