‘Today with Hoda and Jenna’ goes live on social media, reveals logo design

NBC’s fourth hour of “Today” rolled out new social media handles and revealed a glimpse at its new logo design on Sunday, April 7, 2019.

The show, which bid farewell to co-host Kathie Lee Gifford Friday, previously announced that NBC News contributor and frequent fill-in host Jenna Bush Hager would take over Gifford’s spot alongside Hoda Kotb, who also anchors the show’s main two hour block an hour before.

The new hosts are set to debut April 8.

NBC changed the show’s social media handles to “@hodaandjenna” in favor of the old “@klgandhoda” — continuing the practice of having separate accounts for the hour.

The show also switched to using “hodaandjenna.com” as its website address.

The social logo design, which is based on the “main” logo design developed by NBC, is set against an orange background on social and features the show’s host names in all calls sans serif — with the ampersand tucked in the lower left — with parts of the glyph “nudged” into the rectangles.

The “full” version of the logo design is visible on social media banner images, as shown below, NewscastStudio has confirmed.

It’s also worth noting that Kotb’s name is now first — previously her name was second in both show title, open and social media usernames.

In addition to changing the profile image and handles out, the show also updated social media cover and header photo to feature Kotb and Hager in front of what appears to be the simulated ‘window’ overlooking Rockefeller Center with simulated frosted panels and shelves the Gifford version used — but with the full logo lockup featuring a pink and teal color for the rectangles and thin line accents and the ‘Today’ logo perched on top.
