Net Insight launches full IP JPEG XS solution at NAB Show 2026
Net Insight announced a full IP JPEG XS solution, designed to support live production at higher UHD and full HD volumes. The solution provides a standards-based IP media architecture that combines ultra-low latency real-time production with increased processing capacity.
The JPEG XS implementation supports visually lossless UHD and full HD contribution at efficient bitrates. It offers an ultra-dense hardware design capable of handling up to 192 full HD or 90 UHD JPEG XS streams per device in IP ST 2110 environments. This design aims to help media companies scale production capacity while reducing operational overhead.
The platform integrates media processing, switching, and security demarcation within a single IP media system. This integration eliminates the need for additional devices between network domains. The solution can be combined with Net Insight’s 400G IP backbone and backhaul transport to consolidate large workflows into fewer high-capacity links, which may improve network utilization and lower total cost of ownership.
Andreas Eriksson, CEO of Net Insight, said JPEG XS has demonstrated value with Tier 1 broadcasters operating at high capacity, where performance, reliability, and interoperability are essential.
He added that the full IP solution combines open standards, dense media processing, and IP expertise into an architecture intended for live production.
The JPEG XS solution supports environments where SDI and IP coexist, including permanent facilities, temporary venues, and partner-operated networks. It has undergone multi-vendor interoperability testing to enable gradual adoption of ST 2110 without forced replacement or increased operational risk.
The solution integrates with Net Insight’s Nimbra Live Intelligence platform, providing unified monitoring, control, and automation across edge, aggregation, and core network layers. This integration aims to reduce manual intervention, over-provisioning, and operational risk during live events.
