Techex and Encompass launch cloud-native master control services
Encompass Digital Media and Techex announced a new fully managed, cloud-native master control service designed for live sports and entertainment broadcasting. The service combines Encompass’s managed services and Altitude Media Cloud platform with Techex’s tx darwin content transformation technology and user interface capabilities from Densitron. The solution will be demonstrated at NAB Show 2026 in April.
The service, called Altitude Events and part of the Encompass Altitude product suite, allows broadcasters, sports rights holders, and media organizations to configure and deploy master control workflows using cloud infrastructure. It manages the full live event delivery chain, including signal acquisition, dynamic branding, standards conversion, content and ad insertion, monetization triggering, encoding, and distribution to multiple endpoints.
The combined software-defined, cloud-native infrastructure from Encompass and Techex enables workflows to be initiated at the start of an event and removed after coverage ends. This approach supports cost-effective event delivery at scale.
Keir Shepherd, chief solutions officer at Encompass, said the partnership addresses the complexity and cost of delivering live events at scale. He added that the integration simplifies live event operations and allows quick deployment of workflows for new opportunities.
The collaboration builds on a framework developed by both companies in 2025 that demonstrates scalable cloud architecture for live event and broadcast operations.
David Edwards, product manager at Techex, said tx darwin is designed to make complex live broadcast workflows configurable and repeatable at the scale required by live sports broadcasters. He noted that the combination of tx darwin and Encompass’s managed service offers a solution for customers with high event concurrency or demanding turnaround needs.
The joint solution will be available for viewing at the Techex booth (W2267) in West Hall during NAB Show 2026, April 18-22, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
