Atomos announced it has acquired Flanders Scientific, a manufacturer of professional reference monitors, in a move aimed at expanding its monitoring capabilities across the production pipeline.
The company said the acquisition strengthens its ability to offer integrated monitoring solutions spanning on-camera capture through postproduction and final delivery.
Atomos’ existing portfolio includes the Shinobi and Ninja monitor-recorders, Sumo on-set displays and Shogun AV rack-mounted systems. The addition of Flanders Scientific extends that range into high-end reference-grade monitoring used in postproduction and broadcast environments.
Flanders Scientific will continue operating as a separate brand within Atomos, with no changes to its engineering approach or product philosophy, the company said.
The acquisition also expands Atomos’ reach into the top tier of the monitoring market, where Flanders Scientific products are widely used for color-critical applications and content mastering.
“We are incredibly proud to welcome the Flanders Scientific team into Atomos,” Peter Barber, chief executive officer of Atomos, said. “They have built a reputation for absolute precision and trust in reference monitoring, and that aligns perfectly with where we are taking the Atomos business.”
“Joining Atomos is a significant, and exciting, moment for Flanders Scientific,” Bram Desmet, chief executive officer of Flanders Scientific, said. “What this partnership gives us is the infrastructure and reach to stand behind that promise for more customers, in more markets, more effectively than we could on our own.”
Atomos said the deal also enhances its global distribution and support infrastructure, particularly in regions where Flanders Scientific previously had limited reach.
Both companies are expected to showcase their products at NAB 2026, with Atomos in Central Hall and Flanders Scientific in North Hall.
