Harmonic introduces AI orchestration service for live video workflows

Contributed Content / Press Release April 15, 2026

Harmonic has announced a new AI orchestration service designed to help broadcasters, streamers and service providers integrate AI applications into live video workflows with broadcast-grade reliability and security.

The service allows media companies to incorporate AI applications developed by Harmonic and its partners into their workflows. It aims to reduce AI-related investments and speed up the delivery of personalized and cost-efficient live streaming and broadcast services.

Yaniv Sibony, vice president of growth product management at Harmonic, said the service provides a unified control plane for multiple AI applications, offering reliability and security to address challenges related to fragmented AI tools and complex integrations.

The AI orchestration service aggregates, orchestrates, maintains and updates AI applications from Harmonic and its partners. It provides a unified interface for service providers to configure, schedule and activate AI applications dynamically. The service coordinates AI processing for live content, synchronizes outputs across AI engines and includes failover mechanisms for redundancy.

Available as a stand-alone software-as-a-service offering, the platform supports AI-driven applications such as real-time audio translation and transcription, dubbing and localization, automated live sports highlight generation, scene-level metadata generation, ad-break detection and in-stream ad triggering. It integrates with Harmonic’s media processing solutions, including VOS 360 Media SaaS, VOS Media Software, XOS media processor and Spectrum X Plus.

The service offers unified governance for managing multiple AI vendors, synchronized processing for frame-accurate outputs, built-in redundancy to prevent on-air disruptions, and dynamic scheduling for live events.

By unifying AI applications into a single platform, the service aims to simplify AI adoption, reduce integration costs and accelerate time to market for AI-powered video services.

Harmonic plans to demonstrate the AI orchestration service at the 2026 NAB Show, April 19-22, in Las Vegas at booth W2831.
