Blackmagic expands SMPTE 2110 lineup with switcher, recorder, storage and converters

Blackmagic Design announced a range of broadcast infrastructure products ahead of the 2026 NAB Show, including two live production switchers, an IP video recorder, two storage products and a series of converters and switches.
The products share a focus on 100G Ethernet for SMPTE 2110 IP video workflows, with intended usage in broadcast trucks or production facilities.
All products will be demonstrated at Blackmagic Design’s booth N2502 at the NAB Show.
ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP brings native SMPTE 2110 switching
The ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP and ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP Plus are live production switchers built for SMPTE 2110 IP workflows. Blackmagic said the models retain the feature set of the existing SDI-based ATEM Constellation switchers to allow users to move between SDI and IP facilities without learning a new interface.
The standard 4 M/E model includes 32 standards-converted SMPTE-2022-7 inputs across four sets of dual redundant 100G Ethernet connections, along with 24 SMPTE 2110 outputs, 16 ATEM Advanced Keys, four multi-views and two SuperSource sections for a total of 12 DVEs. The 4 M/E Plus model doubles the input count to 64 across eight sets of dual redundant 100G Ethernet connections, with 48 SMPTE-2022-7 outputs.
Each 100G Ethernet connection carries eight input and eight output video channels and has two separate connectors for SMPTE-2022-7 redundancy, allowing each port to connect to a separate network switch. Every input channel includes a dedicated standards converter, allowing sources in formats different from the switcher’s operating standard to be routed without prior conversion. Supported standards include 720p, 1080i, 1080p and 2160p up to 60p.

The switcher design includes front-to-back cooling with four fans, redundant PTP clock connections, two 10G Ethernet ports for control and redundant AC power supplies. A built-in LCD displays status information, and the front panel includes a headphone connection and built-in speaker for local program monitoring.
The ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP will be available in June starting at $7,995, with the 4 M/E Plus model available in July starting at $14,295, both excluding duties.
ATEM Monitoring Rack Panel adds front-panel controls
Because the Constellation IP’s front-to-back cooling design limits space for front-panel controls, Blackmagic also announced the ATEM Monitoring Rack Panel. The unit combines a control panel with a SMPTE 2110 to 12G-SDI and HDMI monitoring converter.

The panel uses the same controls as the SDI-based ATEM Constellation models, along with a dedicated Ethernet control port, redundant 10G Ethernet SMPTE-2022-7 connections and a 5-pin talkback interface on the front panel. It will be available in June starting at $995.
HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G captures eight channels
The HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G is a SMPTE 2110 video recorder that captures eight channels of Ultra HD video. A single 100G Ethernet connection handles all eight video channels, and a second 100G Ethernet connection is used for recording Apple ProRes files to network storage. Two 100G Ethernet ports provide data connection redundancy.
The recorder supports Apple ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422 and ProRes 422 LT. Blackmagic positioned the product for live replay workflows, noting that DaVinci Resolve can edit media while recording is in progress. Users can display all cameras in a multi-view in the DaVinci Resolve viewer, scroll through angles in real time and select an angle for air playback. Adding a DaVinci Resolve Replay Editor is intended to speed up the replay workflow.
The recorder uses SMPTE-2022-7 Seamless Protection Switching, which sends two identical copies of video and audio across separate network connections and reconstructs frames from whichever packet arrives first. The 2RU design includes front-to-back cooling, a machined metal search dial with an electronic clutch, traditional broadcast transport controls, an LCD with light and dark modes, a headphone connection and a built-in speaker. It also includes RS-422 serial deck control and supports the Advanced Media Protocol for broadcast automation systems.
The HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G will be available in June for $4,995, excluding duties.
Cloud Store Ultra and Media Dock Ultra support simultaneous recording and editing
Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra is flash-based network storage with up to 48 TB capacity. The product uses two independent 100G Ethernet ports that operate as separate networks, allowing recording on one port while editing workstations access media through the other. The model is available in 24 TB and 48 TB configurations and uses 12 M.2 flash cards. By default the system uses RAID 0 for maximum capacity and can be reformatted to RAID 5, which dedicates every sixth card to parity data.
The unit includes HDMI and SDI monitoring outputs that display a storage map showing reads and writes in real time, data transfer graphs for the Ethernet connections and Blackmagic Cloud sync status. Blackmagic said users can configure the system through a free software utility for Mac and Windows, with no subscriptions or usage tracking.
The Blackmagic Media Dock Ultra is a rack-mount dock for Blackmagic Media Modules, the same removable storage used in URSA Cine cameras. The dock holds up to three modules and includes two independent 100G Ethernet ports, SDI and HDMI monitoring outputs and Blackmagic Cloud sync. Each module contains four M.2 flash memory cards in RAID 0.
“When recording 8 channels of video and editing at the same time, you need more than a single 100G port because recording ties it up completely,” said Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design. He said the two-port architecture allows a HyperDeck to record to one port while editing workstations connect through the other.
The Cloud Store Ultra will be available in June starting at $8,835. The Media Dock Ultra will be available in June for $2,995. Both prices exclude duties.
Converters and switch extend IP workflows
Blackmagic announced four additional infrastructure products, all scheduled for June availability.
The Blackmagic SDI Expander 8x12G converts between 12G-SDI and SMPTE 2110 in both directions simultaneously. The 1RU unit handles eight channels in each direction, with two 100G Ethernet ports for SMPTE-2022-7 redundancy, a separate NMOS control port and dual redundant power supplies. It will be available for $2,995.
The Blackmagic StudioBridge 10G PWR bridges up to eight 10G Ethernet SMPTE 2110 connections into a redundant pair of 100G Ethernet connections. The 2RU unit includes four internal power supplies, providing 90W of PoE++ power on each 10G Ethernet port for devices such as cameras and converters. It will be available for $2,495.
The Blackmagic UpDownCross 100G is a 1RU standards converter that handles eight simultaneous channels of SD, HD or Ultra HD conversion to any other standard up to 2160p60. The unit includes redundant 100G Ethernet for SMPTE-2022-7 compliance, a dedicated NMOS control port and dual redundant power supplies. It will be available starting at $2,435.
The Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 820 is a 100G Ethernet switch with eight 100G and two 10G ports, designed for SMPTE 2110 networks. The switch includes two redundant PTP clock Ethernet ports, a dedicated NMOS control port and a separate management port. Front-to-back cooling with six fans, dual redundant power supplies and a rear-facing connector layout are aimed at broadcast facility installations. It will be available for $2,295.
All four products support SMPTE-2022-7 Seamless Protection Switching across their 100G Ethernet connections.
