NYC features reporter, fill-in anchor departs station

Lauren Glassberg has left ABC’s flagship station WABC after 26 years with the New York station, ending a tenure that included breaking-news coverage, feature reporting and the long-running “Neighborhood Eats” franchise.

Glassberg’s final day at the Disney-owned station was July 15, 2026, according to an internal email from vice president of news John Antonio.

Antonio told staff Glassberg had decided to “chart a new path” and planned to use her talents in other areas. The station held a farewell gathering for her July 14, 2026.

Glassberg joined WABC in 2000 and contributed feature reports as well as filling in at the anchor desk.

after working at KARE in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas. 

She graduated from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

Glassberg was also known for her “Neighborhood Eats” franchise, a weekly feature highlighting restaurants across New York City and its suburbs.
