NBCUniversal Local sister stations WTVJ and WSCV finished first and second among adults 25–54 in South Florida during both the 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts in the August 2026 ratings period.

Spanish-language WSCV, which is known as Telemundo 51, ranked No. 1 in the market at both times, regardless of language, while English-language WTVJ, which brands under NBC South Florida, ranked second overall and first among English-language stations, according to the stations’ announcement.

Together, the stations captured 48% of the local news audience among adults 25-54 at 6 a.m. and 53% at 6 p.m.

The 6 p.m. results marked only the second time since 2020 that WSCV and WTVJ have occupied the market’s top two positions in the time period. The stations previously accomplished it in February during NBCUniversal’s coverage of the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.

At 6 a.m., the stations ranked first and second for the seventh time since 2020 and for the first time since December 2022.

“As the local media environment shifts in this market, the combined performance of NBC6 and Telemundo 51 reinforces the strength of our local journalism and our ability to reach and serve South Florida audiences across languages and platforms,” said Jorge Carballo, president and general manager of WTVJ and WSCV.

The results are based on Nielsen Station Index program averages for the August 2026 ratings period, which ran July 30-Aug. 26, using Live+Same Day viewing.
