NewsNation announces Sept. 11 anniversary coverage plans

NewsNation will mark the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks with daylong special programming Sept. 11, 2026, including live broadcasts from the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City and a primetime documentary featuring Donald Trump and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Chris Cuomo and Connell McShane will anchor live from the World Trade Center site. McShane will host a three-hour edition of “NewsNation Live” beginning at 3 p.m. ET, while Cuomo will anchor “Cuomo” from the memorial at 8 p.m.

At 9 p.m., NewsNation will premiere the one-hour multiplatform documentary “9/11 Remembered: 25 Years Later.” The special will include new interviews with Trump and Giuliani, archival footage and accounts from people who experienced the attacks and their aftermath.

Other participants include retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Michael R. Fenzel, actor Gary Sinise, Sebastian Gorka and first responders who were at the scene.

NewsNation’s coverage will begin with “Morning in America,” anchored by Markie Martin from Chicago, Illinois. Marni Hughes will then anchor a special edition of “NewsNation Live” from 9 a.m. to noon, including coverage of the annual moment of silence and reading of victims’ names.

Special editions of “On Balance with Leland Vittert” and “Katie Pavlich Tonight” will air at 10 and 11 p.m., respectively.

National correspondents Alicia Nieves and Jessica Kartalija will report from the World Trade Center throughout the day, while White House correspondent Kellie Meyer will cover memorial events in Washington, D.C.
