JVC Professional Video unveiled the SFM-CAM2 ProHD Dockable Bridge during the NAB Show New York, which creates a wireless bonded IP uplink for its 800 series cameras. The device will retail for $2,995 and ship in January 2018.
The bridge supports HD streaming from multiple IP-enabled JVC cameras to HD-SDI decoders or servers at a central location, as well as CDNs and Facebook Live.
The system uses an LTE-Advanced connection, comprised of multiple cellular, wired, and Wi-Fi connections.
JVC notes the solution is ideal for live ENG reports or webcasts, plugging into the camera’s USB port, positioned between the battery and GY‑HM850/890 camera body. It can also be detached and used with other IP-enabled ProHD, 4KCAM, and JVC PTZ camera models.
