Maria Bartiromo’s top producer exits Fox Business after anchor’s departure

Fox Business Network has also parted ways with Patrick Ignozzi, the executive producer of “Mornings with Maria,” following the departure of longtime host Maria Bartiromo.

Puck’s Dylan Byers first reported Ignozzi’s exit Thursday, with Mediaite later separately confirming it through two sources familiar with the matter.

The move came the same day Fox announced that Bartiromo was leaving after more than 12 years with the company. Her departure followed an internal dispute involving the network’s coverage of Donald Trump, according to reports from Status and Puck.

Status reported that Fox Business executives had instructed senior staff members in July not to lend credibility to claims Trump made during a prime-time address involving the 2020 presidential election and China.

According to Byers, Bartiromo took a screenshot of internal guidance directing producers not to pursue a story she wanted to cover involving China and 2020 election conspiracy claims. She then sent the screenshot to senior White House officials, Byers reported.

Status’ Oliver Darcy reported that Fox executives later learned what had happened after receiving a call from the White House. The outlet characterized Bartiromo’s action as a breach of trust with the network.

Fox publicly described Bartiromo’s exit as the company and anchor “parting ways.”

A network spokesperson separately told Status that Bartiromo’s departure was “a business decision and the release speaks for itself.”

Bartiromo’s biography was removed from Fox’s website following the announcement. She has been absent from the show since Aug. 9, 2026.

Bartiromo’s coverage of claims surrounding the 2020 election had previously drawn scrutiny during Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation case against Fox. The company reached a $787.5 million settlement with Dominion in 2023.
