First look at new Weather Channel graphics?

Screen Shot 2013-10-06 at 4.12.28 PM

A video has surfaced on YouTube that appears to show new graphics that will begin rolling out this November on The Weather Channel.

NewscastStudio has not been able to independently verify the authenticity of the video.

If these are indeed the new look, it represents a major shift for the network towards simple, clean and modern design.

Using some of the design language presents in Windows 8 and the new iOS, the graphics use thin fonts, neutral colors and simple icons.

We’ll see next month if this holds to be true…

  1. I'd imagine it's true because the video was taken down in violation of copyright and one of groups making the claim was UMG, Universal Media Group. Also at their upfront they mentioned they were streamlining all of the graphical looks. http://press.weather.com/press-releases/weather-channel-announces-2013-14-programming-slate-new-vide/ Ryan

  2. Even though I can't afford a cable/satellite TV subscription... I would most likely have to describe the new Weather Channel graphics as a simple and clean look... as well as clear and easy to understand. I would probably give this new look an A. Eric
