‘Welcome to ‘Today” gets new ‘possibilities’ in promo

A promo for NBC News‘ “Today” puts an interesting spin on the show’s well known greeting “Welcome to ‘Today’.”

“Before you open your eyes, the world has changed,” reads the announcer over black and white “Ken Burns” style photographs of Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and, notably, Craig Melvin.

The promos continues with clips from the show in color around the line “We seek understanding,” which also appears in a burst of light on screen.

The spot ends, after additional black and white photography, with the line “Welcome to all the possibilities today can bring.”
