LG Electronics announced a slate of new FAST channels and exclusive programming as part of an expanded content strategy for its LG Channels platform during its IAB NewFronts presentation in New York.

The announcements included the launch of the All Chewed Up channel on March 30, along with new original content initiatives and partnerships aimed at increasing exclusive offerings on the platform, the company said.

The All Chewed Up channel will feature new and library episodes of “Chewed Up,” a cooking and advice-driven talk show from Simple Alien with Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly and Michael Symon. New episodes are scheduled to debut three times per week.

LG also introduced LG Channels World Pup, a global exclusive event set to premiere in June and run through July. Produced by Bright Spot Content, the series will feature 48 adoptable dogs from 14 rescue organizations competing in a tournament-style format tied to a major international soccer event.

“From ‘feel good’ programming like LG Channels World Pup, to hundreds of hours of sports content, available free, on the biggest screen in the house, we’re creating experiences that connect with people in meaningful ways. And we have so much more in store—this is only the beginning. “ said Matthew Durgin, VP, North America Content & Services.

Additional programming includes an expanded partnership with fantasy sports analyst Matthew Berry, whose Fantasy Life channel will increase its original content output and provide year-round coverage.

LG also said it will bring the podcast “Mohr Stories,” hosted by Jay Mohr, to its FAST platform through a partnership with Cineverse and the WITZ Podcast Network, with new episodes released biweekly.

The company said the updates are part of a broader effort to enhance user experience and grow engagement on LG Channels, as FAST platforms continue to expand in the connected TV market.
