Telestream names Benjamin Desbois as CEO
Telestream announced that its board of directors has appointed Benjamin Desbois as chief executive officer, effective July 1, 2026. Desbois currently serves as the company’s chief growth and strategy officer.
He will succeed Dan Castles, co-founder and longtime CEO of Telestream, who will transition to the role of executive chair of the board.
The leadership change aims to maintain continuity and support long-term growth amid ongoing developments in live production, cloud computing, IP workflows, automation, and artificial intelligence in media operations.
Desbois has worked closely with Castles and the executive leadership team to refine Telestream’s strategic focus, enhance customer and partner engagement, and align the company’s product portfolio with the evolving needs of media organizations.
Dan Castles, who will remain CEO until the July 1 transition, said, “Benjamin understands that foundation deeply. He knows our customers, our markets, and our technology, and he brings the leadership experience and industry credibility needed to guide Telestream into its next chapter.”
Benjamin Desbois has more than 20 years of leadership experience in media and entertainment technology. Before returning to Telestream, he held senior roles at Backlight, Avid Technology, and Dalet, focusing on media workflows, customer transformation, and business growth.
In his current role, Desbois contributed to advancing Telestream’s go-to-market strategy and strengthening its position as a partner to broadcasters, content owners, sports organizations, post-production teams, service providers, and enterprises worldwide.
Desbois said, “As AI and cloud reshape how media is made and delivered, my focus is to build on that foundation while accelerating our innovation in intelligent, AI-driven, and cloud-native workflows.”
After July 1, Castles will support Desbois and the board in his role as executive chair, focusing on strategic direction, customer relationships, and long-term value creation. The company’s executive leadership team will remain in their current positions.
