CNN will hold its first Health Innovation Summit in Washington, D.C., bringing together medical experts, researchers and technology leaders for discussions about artificial intelligence and other developments affecting health care.
The invitation-only event is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, and will be moderated by CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta and anchor and Chief Investigative Correspondent Pamela Brown. The summit will stream live on CNN.com, the CNN app and CNN’s YouTube channel.
Programming will focus on three areas: brain health, women’s health and the growing use of artificial intelligence in medicine.
Neurologist Dr. Richard Isaacson will join Gupta for a discussion about research into brain health and the role exercise, nutrition, sleep, community and faith can play. The conversation will also examine how researchers are applying those findings to Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Brown will moderate a discussion with Dr. Tara Abraham, an ob/gyn and certified menopause practitioner, about menopause and perimenopause. The session will examine the increased attention being given to the subjects, research-backed approaches to navigating the conditions and what the discussion reflects about women’s health more broadly.
Gupta will also speak with Dr. Peter Lee about the use of artificial intelligence in health care, including its potential applications in diagnostics, medical data and research. The discussion will address potential risks and questions surrounding how physicians and patients should use AI.
“At a time of unprecedented change, when artificial intelligence and advanced technology are rapidly redefining our world, CNN’s mission has always been to tell stories that matter and to shine a light on the ideas shaping our collective future,” said Ellana Lee, CNN group senior vice president, general manager of APAC and global head of productions, in a statement.
The event is aimed at leaders and decision-makers working across health care, technology and public policy.
ViiV Healthcare and Whoop are sponsoring the summit and will participate in separate panels.
