Beth Warden has been named news director at KCAU in Sioux City, Iowa, overseeing the station’s television, digital and social news operations.
Warden began the position Sept. 5, 2026, with responsibility for KCAU’s editorial strategy, content development, digital growth and newsroom leadership.
“We are excited to welcome Beth into this important leadership position,” KCAU Vice President and General Manager Mari Ossenfort is quoted as saying in a story on the station’s site. “Her passion for local journalism, commitment to serving communities, and vision for the future of news make her the ideal person to lead our newsroom.”
Warden comes to KCAU with experience in investigative journalism, local news production, newsroom leadership and audience engagement. The station said she will focus on expanding local coverage and developing storytelling across broadcast and digital platforms.
“I am honored to join KCAU 9 and lead such a talented team of journalists,” Warden said. “KCAU has a long-standing reputation for serving Siouxland with integrity and dedication. I look forward to working alongside our newsroom staff to continue delivering the stories that matter most to our viewers while expanding how we connect with audiences across all platforms.”
Before joining KCAU, Warden was an investigative reporter for Gray Media’s Dakota News Now in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a role she held beginning in 2019.
She has also worked in radio in Rapid City, South Dakota, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Canada.
While in Canada, she hosted and owned the syndicated radio program “Today’s Family with Beth Warden,” which aired on more than 30 stations.
After returning to South Dakota in 2010, Warden worked for Results Radio and later served as news director and co-host of KSOO-AM’s morning show before making the transition to television.
