NBC breathlessly announced that its “Locals Only” branded O&O Web sites have come out of beta with a new look.
“This is an exciting step in the ‘Locals Only’ brand strategy,” Brian Buchwald, senior VP of NBC Local Integrated Media, was quoted as saying in a press release.
One little problem there Brian: the sites don’t seem to be using the “Locals Only” tagline anymore. Instead, the sites seem to be more focused on Twitter-like status updates on the “beat” of the city it serves and a “So (fill-city-name-in-here)” moniker.
