Details of how some NBC-owned stations will update their schedules after “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” “Access Hollywood” and its talk-focused sister show “Access Daily with Mario and Kit” end production have started to emerge.
NBC-owned stations are particularly affected by these shows ending.
An NCS analysis of future public scheduling data paints a picture of what schedules will likely look like later in September 2026 — which some changes rolling out as soon as Sept. 7, 2026.
NBCUniversal Local has not confirmed every schedule change, however. Each station appears to be issuing separate announcements that have, so far, matched the future listings. In some cases, a single station has announced multiple programming changes in separate press releases.
Multiple requests for comment to local stations either went unanswered or received no firm comments on what the listings are showing.
NBC New York
WNBC in New York appears to be replacing “Access Daily” with another block of the network-produced “NBC News Daily” at 2 p.m. The new lineup means there will be an hour of “Dateline” repeats sandwiched between the two “NBC News Daily” hours.
Clarkson’s spot at 3 p.m. will feature a program called “News Zone,” which is described as “news, as it happens; raw coverage and inside access from the tri-state and beyond.” The station will air a repeat of “New York Live” at 7:30 p.m. where “Access Hollywood” currently airs, according to upcoming listings.
NBC Chicago
In Chicago, WMAQ’s future listings show that a second repeat of “Dateline” will air at 3 p.m., replacing “Kelly.” Meanwhile, it appears “Chicago Today” will be moving to 12 p.m. and “Hollywood Reel Time” at 12:30 p.m. The change would mean that “Chicago Today” expands from 15 minutes to 30 minutes, Monday through Thursday. Friday editions of the show are already 30 minutes.
NBC Philadelphia
WCAU in Philadelphia is showing that it will fill the “Kelly” timeslot with a simulcast of its streaming news feed, with the listing titled as “NBC10 News 24/7 Streaming Channel” and accompanied by a description of “Major local and national news updates with weather every 10 minutes.” It is unclear if this will be a fully produced newscast.
The station does appear to be adding a 7:30 p.m. newscast to replace “Access Hollywood.”
NBC Boston
WBTS in the greater Boston market is showing “To be announced” during “Access Daily” and the “Access Hollywood” spots, with “Dateline” showing in listings during the “Kelly” slot.
NBC Washington
In Washington, D.C., WRC is adding a noon newscast that will follow its 11 a.m. broadcast, which will remain branded as “Midday,” according to schedules. This noon broadcast replaces “Access Daily.” “Dateline” repeats will move up an hour from 2 p.m. to 1 p.m., with the additional open hour filled with a second hour of “NBC News Daily.”
WRC will replace its 3:30 a.m. airing of “Access Hollywood” with “Early Today.”
NBC South Florida
“Dateline” will replace “Kelly” at 11 a.m. on Miami’s WTVJ, with “South Florida Live” moving from 12:30 to the 3 p.m. “Access Daily” slot. Listings show the station will expand its 30-minute noon newscast to 60 minutes, while “South Florida Live+” will take over the 7:30 p.m. “Access Hollywood” time.
NBC San Diego
KNSD will replace “Kelly” with a simulcast of NBC News Now’s “Hallie Jackson Now” at 2 p.m.
NBC Bay Area
As previously reported, KNTV will replace “Kelly” with a new local newscast.
NBC DFW
KXAS in Dallas–Ft. Worth, Texas, has already announced it will add to its 3 p.m. block with more local news, which will be branded as “NBC 5 News Now.” The station has also announced its 6 p.m. newscast will expand to a full hour.
