Brandon Walker is returning to KPRC in Houston, Texas, taking on a new role with the station’s “Enough” investigative and accountability team.
Walker will rejoin KPRC beginning Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, after most recently working as an anchor and reporter at WWL in his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana.
The move marks a return to a station where Walker spent more than eight years. He first joined KPRC in 2015 as a morning reporter and later worked in several reporting and anchoring roles.
In his new assignment, Walker will serve as an “Enough” reporter, focusing on issues affecting communities across the Houston area and seeking answers from public officials, businesses and others in positions of responsibility.
“Brandon already understands Houston, but more importantly, he understands the responsibility that comes with telling the stories of this community,” KPRC News Director Ana Lastra said in a statement. “He is a relentless reporter, a gifted storyteller and a journalist who knows how to ask difficult questions while never losing sight of the people affected by the answers.”
Walker’s previous tenure at KPRC included a lengthy recovery following a serious pedestrian accident in 2020.
Walker was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a street in Houston in February 2020. He suffered severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury and broken bones, and underwent multiple surgeries followed by months of rehabilitation.
He returned to KPRC later that year, sharing parts of his recovery with viewers before eventually resuming his reporting and anchoring duties.
Before his work in Houston and New Orleans, Walker held reporting and anchoring positions in Connecticut and New York and worked at CBS News.
Walker is a graduate of Carleton College and earned a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. His work has received multiple Emmy and Edward R. Murrow awards.
KPRC launched “Enough” on Sept. 13, 2026, as an accountability journalism initiative focused on issues affecting viewers across Houston and the surrounding region.
The project is built around three questions: Who is responsible? Why hasn’t this been fixed? What happens next?
Rather than treating the effort as a single investigative series, KPRC says the initiative is designed to continue following issues after initial reports air, examining whether promised changes are made and whether proposed solutions are effective.
Among the subjects examined since its launch are rising electricity costs, Texas Education Freedom Accounts, the proposed high-speed rail line between Houston and Dallas, data center development, land subsidence, public safety technology, Houston’s garbage collection fees, historic property protections and accountability involving CenterPoint Energy.
“Enough” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on KPRC, with additional reporting distributed through the station’s digital and social platforms.
