ITV Sport built its 2026 FIFA World Cup studio on the roof of a building in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood, using views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty as the primary backdrop.
The open-air set sat on a raised platform about 10 feet above the roof and included roughly 3,000 square feet of production space.
Its design used Corten-style steel, warm wood, brick and verdigris finishes to create a residential, New York-inspired environment rather than a polished conventional sports set. Three connected presentation areas included a main desk, a sofa setting and a standing bar position, allowing the production to move between segments within continuous camera shots.
Virtual walls, a digital ceiling and augmented reality screens extended the physical scenery while preserving the skyline as the central visual element. Sliding rain panels and an operating plan for wind allowed the temporary structure to remain open to the city while adapting to changing weather.
