FOR-A to introduce latest in USF-Series at NAB Show

At next month’s NAB Show, manufacturer FOR-A will introduce the latest solution in its USF-Series of universal system frames, the USF-106UDC-12G 4K up and down converter.

The unit offers interlace and progressive and up and down conversion for HD to 4K, and will be demonstrated at NAB alongside FOR-A’s extensive line of video production solutions in Booth C5117.

FOR-A’s USF-Series is designed for compact, economical system building.

The new USF-106UDC-12G unit supports HD to 4K up, down and cross conversion. It offers frame synchronization and audio and SDI error correction, and features SNMP monitoring and browser-based control via a built-in web server.

The USF-106UDC-12G compensates for differences among external devices by using EOTF and OETF conversion functions to correspond with various HDR or SDR curves, and EOTF and OETF log curves and gamut can be registered from a computer. It also supports conversion between the following 4K signal formats: 12G-SDI/quad link 3G-SDI, 3G-SDI Level A/B, 2SI/SQD and ITU-R BT.2020/709.

FOR-A offers dozens of universal system frame modules, enabling users to build the optimal system for their broadcast requirements.

Other available modules in the USF-Series include: the USF-10IP, which converts between IP formats; the USF-10IPSDI6-FS, which comes standard with one 12G-SDI input and one output, 2SI/SQD conversion, and offers SMPTE 2022-6 uncompressed simultaneous conversion of up to six inputs and outputs (six streams total) selectable; the USF-10IPSDI12-FS module, which also comes standard with one 12G-SDI input and one output, as well as 2SI and SQD conversion, and offers simultaneous conversion of up to six inputs and six outputs (12-stream as total).

The USF-106UDC-12G 4K up and down converter and USF-10IP series will be showcased at NAB in the 12G/IP technology area of FOR-A’s booth. Another new solution to be shown in this area is the ESG-4200 multi-rate 12G and IP 4K test signal generator — which features versatile 4K UHD output support, 12G, 3G and HD-SDI outputs, IP stream outputs (SMPTE 2022-5/6/7, 2110 and NMI), WAV file support, and the option to choose from ITU-R BT.2020 or ITU-R BT.709 for 4K testing.

Other products to be showcased in the 12G and IP technology area include the new MFR-6000 SD/HD/3G/6G/12G router, MV-4320 multi-viewer supporting 12G-SDI I/Os, and MFC-2GB 12G-SDI/Quad Link 3G-SDI converter.

FOR-A’s NAB Show booth will showcase the company’s commitment to innovation by highlighting a number of 12G supported products that integrate baseband and IP, as well as products that support UHD resolution, high dynamic range and wide color gamut, as well as various codecs.
