“BBC Breakfast,” the morning program of BBC News, unveiled a substantial studio update on Monday, June 26, 2023, its first major change in over a decade.

The show moved to a new studio in Salford’s MediaCityUK, shared with BBC Sport. The set design mirrors the aesthetic introduced by Jago Design in Studio B at Broadcasting House in London. Key features of the design included a large vertical LED video wall, sweeping LED walls with a minimal color palette and cutting-edge technology.

Despite the modern updates, the emblematic red sofa of “BBC Breakfast” was retained, with the studio designed to align with the BBC’s strategy of flexible spaces, allowing for over 20 hours of use a day.

“BBC Sportsday,” which shares the space, debuted new motion graphics along with its move into the studio.
