Telemundo created a virtual studio for its 2026 FIFA World Cup coverage that could shift among the tournament’s 16 host cities.

Gameday Creative designed the environment around a balcony and city view, giving the Miami-based production a visual connection to locations across Canada, Mexico and the United States.

The team built daytime, sunset and nighttime versions of each host city, producing 48 variations of the central set. Scanned city environments also allowed presenters to appear within recognizable areas of each market.

The studio used virtual desks, display surfaces and augmented reality elements that could be adjusted for different programs, sponsors and editorial needs, with Telemundo’s Real Time Graphics team integrating the set with Zero Density and Unreal Engine. The design extended the same cinematic language, stadium imagery and location-based identity used throughout Telemundo’s World Cup graphics package.
