Disney+ has added eight 24-hour ad-supported local news streams from its owned stations in major markets across the U.S.
Launched Feb. 25, 2026, Disney+ subscribers can now access any of the streams at no additional cost and directly from within the app.
All eight streams were already offered for free throughout the U.S. — with no market-specific restrictions — but the new offering eliminates the need to switch websites or apps as frequently.
Users will now be able to access streams from WABC in New York City, New York, KABC in Los Angeles, California, WLS in Chicago, Illinois, WPVI in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, KTRK in Houston, Texas, KGO in San Francisco, California, WTVD in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, and KFSN in Fresno, California.
Stream content typically focuses on live local newscasts, breaking news coverage, weather updates and community news, though programming does not air live the entire day.
Users can access the content from within the ABC News and Live hubs.
ABC says that future updates will give subscribers access to additional local content if they live within one of the eight markets where the network owns a station.
The streams typically only provide content produced by local stations. Disney+ subscribers do not get access to the full ABC schedule, including network programming such as “High Potential” or “American Idol” or syndicated shows such as “Jeopardy!,” though this content is available in many markets through a Hulu + Live TV bundle.
