The Lighting Design Group announces personnel changes

The Lighting Design Group has added new faces and realigned its New York City office, part of an expansion of the companies permanent broadcast lighting systems design and installation team.

Mark London, Executive VP for Operations and Systems at LDG said he is, “pleased to have such a talented, experienced group of people added to our office.”

Michael Mell has joined the staff as the lead systems designer and is responsible for the design of all permanently installed lighting systems.

He has worked on a variety of television shows for ABC, CBS, PBS and Lifetime. Mell has also worked in Broadway theaters, on tour and in television studios as a lighting designer, technical director, stage manager and stage hand.

Tony Siniscalco is LDG’s new systems project manager and is responsible for budgeting and management of all permanently installed lighting systems.

Siniscalco has worked for Production Resource Group (PRG); Barbizon and most recently Design and Production Inc. before joining the Lighting Design Group. His career has included work on: the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library, Kentucky Derby Museum, Pepsi Family Center and regional History Museum at Tryon Palace; Ronald Reagan Presidential Library; National Museum of American Jewish History, Lyndon Johnson Presidential Library, National Postal Museum, George W. Bush Presidential Library, David M. Rubenstein Gallery (National Archives), Le Poisson Rouge, Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame Annex and WNYC Studios.

Nic Harris, part of LDG since 2010, has moved from the design staff to become the technical project manager where he will manage permanent broadcast lighting system installations and provide technical support for the myriad of complex lighting systems that LDG designs and executes for broadcast events and facilities worldwide.

Harris has been responsible for lighting system upgrades at Bloomberg LLPs New York studios, Univision’s Fusion Network studios in Miami and CNN studios in New York. He has been a staff lighting director at CNN’s NY studios as well as for MTV, VH-1 and SpikeTV.
