NBC News‘ “Today with Jenna and Sheinelle” introduced an updated open and look Sept. 8, 2026.
The open trades the angular look introduced in January 2026 for a more curved take.
While the show has retained the same basic logo layout and typography, the colors have been shifted slightly to a more sophisticated and richer berry and tangerine take on the pink-violets and oranges.
The open itself, which was filmed against green screen, features co-hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones in various virtual scenes.
The space has the feel of a streamlined mid-century modern home that’s dominated by soft matte walls featuring gently debossed verticals and arches. A curated collection of seating and small tables, plus accessories ranging from ceramics to florals, adds interest and texture to the space.
Hager and Jones interact with the environment by walking through a doorway, peeking around a corner and sitting atop a low ledge.
As both hosts are introduced, they sit on white chairs with their first name in off-white 3D lettering behind them.
In a later scene, they also explore oversized 3D letters with the show’s “J&S” initialism.
The environment the co-hosts explore is full of varied takes on the show’s color palette, including rich, elegant violet spaces and a more rusty-orange look that transitions to a brighter shade before magenta takes over during the host intros.
The space also feels, thanks to detailed design work, highly textural and dimensional while still maintaining an overall clean look.
There are also templated opportunities to insert teases for upcoming guests, including larger openings for photography along with arched standing panels — which feel inspired by the arched party backgrounds that are all the rage right now — for text that sit atop low ledges.
After the last tease, the entire scene shifts sideways to reveal the show logo set inside of a large cream circular sculptural wall.

The shift away from angular lines continues on the show’s updated video wall graphics, which feature archway-shaped openings that frame a New York City skyline view.
Here, the look leans heavily into the archway look, with alternating violet and orange-tinted segments offset with a light cream shape. For added interest, the arches also alternate between starting at the bottom of the LED array and going up, and starting near the top and flowing down.
The show logo remains camera center of the main background, set inside of a lighter cream panel.
A series of interlocking thin lines completes the look.
Similar graphics are used throughout the studio, including on the flat video wall camera left of home base, as well as the LED columns and headers.
The show is also sporting an updated bug box and lower third design.

The bug, which sits in the lower right corner of the screen, still has an angled left side but the far right end is now curved, a look that’s hard not to compare to a peacock feather shape.

This use of the angles, which carries over from the previous look, also appears during teases.
The banners themselves, meanwhile, remain rectangular but with a curved accent in the upper left.

“Today with Jenna and Sheinelle” still retains the use of floating lower thirds, as opposed to the full-width, “full bleed” layout used for the first three hours of the franchise. That feels appropriate, however, because the show tends to use insert banners much less frequently than its earlier counterparts.
Swapping out the linear look allows the show to have a stronger visual connection to the first three hours of “Today,” which lean heavily into the half-circle sunrise icon that serves as the franchise’s logo.
The richer color palette, meanwhile, provides a strong contrast to the lighter, airier shades of whites, blues and oranges the show uses elsewhere, while also still maintaining a signature look for the Hager and Jones’ hour.
“Today with Jenna and Sheinelle” continues to use the custom “Brighter Days” theme by Blessing Offor.
