NBCUniversal Local’s LXTV Productions is expanding its “Open House” franchise with “Open House Outrageous,” a five-episode series exploring unusual vacation rentals across the United States.
The half-hour program premieres Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, immediately following “Saturday Night Live” on NBC-owned stations and participating affiliates. Interior designer Megan Batoon and comedian Tim Chantarangsu will host the series.
Episodes will air over five consecutive Saturdays through Nov. 21, 2026, with subsequent availability on Peacock, the “Open House” YouTube channel and NBC LX Home, which is distributed through Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus and Xumo Play.
The series takes viewers inside vacation properties featuring unconventional architecture, elaborate amenities and distinctive designs. Locations include Austin, Texas; Palm Springs, California; upstate New York; and Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
Unlike the traditional residential property tours featured in “Open House,” the new series focuses on vacation accommodations available for short-term stays, incorporating travel and entertainment elements into the established real estate format.
“We’re thrilled to build on the success of our ‘Open House’ franchise with a fresh new series that takes audiences beyond traditional home tours,” said Marni Sabia, vice president of original content and development for NBCUniversal Local LXTV, in a statement. “’Open House Outrageous’ brings a fun and adventurous perspective to the brand, showcasing truly unique properties and unforgettable experiences.”
The premiere on Oct. 24 will introduce the hosts and the series’ approach to exploring unconventional vacation homes.
The Oct. 31 episode will feature properties in Austin, including a sculpture house and a former cattle ranch converted into a river resort. On Nov. 7, the series moves to Palm Springs, where featured accommodations include an airplane converted into a residence and a pink-themed property.
The Nov. 14 episode will explore upstate New York, including a hobbit-inspired house and a castle. The season concludes Nov. 21 in Broken Bow, with properties featuring indoor slides and luxury treehouses.
Batoon is an interior designer, dancer and digital content creator whose work includes home renovation, lifestyle programming and comedy. She has also worked in television production and set design.
Chantarangsu, formerly known professionally as Timothy DeLaGhetto, developed an audience through YouTube comedy and music before appearing on MTV’s “Wild ‘N Out,” “Guy Code” and “Deliciousness.”
“’Open House Outrageous’ is my new favorite show both to make and to watch; it’s like going on a road trip with your best friends without the hassle of traffic or gas prices,” Batoon said.
The series also represents a branded entertainment partnership between NBCUniversal Local and Vrbo, which is part of Expedia Group. The company’s sponsorship connects its vacation rental business with the properties featured throughout the program.
“Vrbo is all about helping families and friends find the perfect vacation rental to make memories in, and ‘Open House Outrageous’ shows just how unforgettable those stays can be,” said Larry Plawsky, senior vice president and general manager at Vrbo.
LXTV Productions has developed lifestyle and entertainment programming for NBCUniversal Local for approximately two decades. Its original “Open House” series is currently in its 19th season, featuring residential properties, architecture and interior design.
The production unit’s other programs include the travel series “1st Look” and home improvement series “George to the Rescue.”
