David Muir also traveled to the beach town and anchored “ABC World News Tonight” from along the beach as well — with a large dock or pier behind him.

The broadcast opened with a custom voiceover and wide aerial view of the beach.

The broadcast used the branding “Hurricane Florence: State of Emergency” in blue and red graphics set against a deep blue weather-themed background.

Toward the end of the broadcast, Muir was joined remotely by meteorologist Ginger Zee who showed off a 3D rendering of how storm surges can cause so much damaged — though it’s worth noting the animation wasn’t branded with ABC’s normal “Virtual View” label.
