Ross Video has acquired EagleEye, a cable camera system developed by sec.swiss (swiss electronic creation GmbH).

The acquisition enhances Ross Video’s portfolio of camera motion systems, adding modular cable camera solutions to complement its spidercam series.

The move allows Ross Video to offer expanded production options with 1D, 2D and 3D cable camera systems for a variety of applications, including sports, concerts and studio environments. Customers can now choose between rental options for short-term needs or purchase systems for long-term installations.

David Ross, CEO of Ross Video, highlighted the importance of cable cameras in transforming live event coverage.

“Cable cameras really bring the audience into the event with camera angles, shots and motion you just can’t achieve in any other way. Now having EagleEye as part of our portfolio, Ross will be able to offer this creative option to an even broader range of clients.”

The EagleEye systems will be manufactured at Ross Video’s global facility in Canada, leveraging the company’s expertise in robotic camera technology.

Karen Walker, vice president of Camera Motion Systems at Ross Video, noted the acquisition addresses the growing demand for versatile solutions.

“By integrating EagleEye’s technology, we’re reinforcing our ability to provide scalable solutions for our clients’ most ambitious productions,” Walker said.

For sec.swiss, the acquisition represents a significant opportunity to extend the reach of its technology.

“Combining our expertise with Ross Video’s resources and vision for growth ensures that EagleEye will continue to set new standards for cable camera solutions,” said David Rhyner, CEO of sec.swiss.

Ross Video plans to use the acquisition to broaden its range of creative tools, providing live production professionals with immersive solutions and flexible options. “At Ross Video, we don’t grow by buying revenue; we acquire expertise and innovation,” said David Ross. “EagleEye brings both, further cementing our market leadership and commitment to our customers.”
