Tour of CNN’s new ‘Studio 7′ in Atlanta

CATEGORIES

The AJC has posted a tour of CNN’s new “Studio 7″ in its Atlanta HQ.

CNN may not be having a banner year in ratings, but the Atlanta headquarters now at least has spiffy new digs.

Three years in the making, the first makeover since the early 1990s gets rid of the wood trims and dated CNN signage. Instead, there’s the “magic wall” seen in the D.C. studio and a special UTouch wall, demonstrated below.

  1. Does anyone know if we'll ever see the actual Newsroom again? Are there any plans to refurbish that space? Anonymous

  2. I actually hate CNN's use of their new studio. Unlike MSNBC, they use their studio as an actually functioning set/office....CNN uses their studio as if it is a prop. For example, CNN creates this grand space, but as we see it on TV, they chop up the use of the space so badly, it looks rather bad unless we see the largess of the space all at once. MSNBC gets points for showing the viewer a multitude of views and shots of their set within each program aired from it. CNN, on the other hand, makes it seems as if we are looking at a studio with really cool wall decorations... Ronja from the Heights

  3. CNN's new set seems very clean and sleek but very European-ish and I don't understand why they are under using their jib. Plus Rick doesn't seem to nice maybe it's because their 2 minutes til the actual show so I maybe wrong. Michael

  5. Apparently they are renovating it now. They still plan on using it on air. Anonymous
