‘Morning Joe’ to originate from ‘SNL’ studio after election

MSNBC has announced that its flagship morning program, “Morning Joe,” will originate live from Studio 8H in Rockefeller Plaza Wednesday morning.

The studio, normally home to “Saturday Night Live,” will allow the show to have a studio audience for that day’s edition.

This isn’t the first time Studio 8H has been utilized either by other NBC programming. During the Olympics, the studio is transformed into a special production facility used to produce and coordinate NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, Telemundo and online coverage.

“Last Call with Carson Daily” previously originated from a redressed version of the set, while it has also been used for the finale of “The Apprentice.”

It will be interesting to see not only how the studio is dressed for “Morning Joe,” but if the show makes use of the “tongue” stage extension used by “Weekend Update.”

  2. Previous elections they have broadcasted from studio 8H. They are on the main stage where the monologue is done with walls on the three sides painted black with a round table. Ryan
