Along with an updated WeatherPlus.com, NBC WeatherPlus has also redesigned their on air L bar.

The new design matches their new online presence and contains much lighter blues and a more airy feel. The L bar now features live radar which stations can insert.

One has to wonder if the recent purchase of The Weather Channel had anything to do with this redesign.  The color schemes look reminiscent of the new Weather Channel HD graphics.

Unfortunately the main graphics NBC Weather Plus use have not been changed, just the L bar. Many overlays still use the old blues and clouds, but hopefully as this package continues its roll out all of NBC Weather Plus will have a new look.

This was planned before the purchase of the Weather Channel.

WPXI’s WeatherPlus is still sporting the old look. Wonder when it’ll change?
