NBCUniversal News Group has announced plans to present six hours of live coverage of Sail4th 250 on July 4 as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration.

The special, titled “America’s 250,” will air from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET across NBC, Telemundo, NBC News NOW and Peacock.

The coverage will originate from New York Harbor and feature Sail4th 250’s International Parade of Sail, which is expected to include 48 tall ships from 20 countries traveling from the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge past the Statue of Liberty and along the Hudson River. The event is expected to bring together maritime and aviation participants from 46 nations, the company said.

The broadcast also will include the International Naval Review 250, featuring 52 U.S. and allied naval vessels positioned along the Hudson River and New York Harbor. An International Aerial Review is scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m. ET and include nearly 200 fixed-wing and rotary aircraft led by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.

Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin will host the English-language coverage from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET. Sheinelle Jones and Laura Jarrett will host from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET. Telemundo’s Carlos Calderon and Lourdes Stephen will lead the Spanish-language broadcast.

Additional reporting will come from “Today” personalities Willie Geist, Jenna Bush Hager, Al Roker, Carson Daly, Dylan Dreyer and Joe Fryer, along with NBC News correspondent Sam Brock. Contributors will also include talent from NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations, including NBC 4 New York’s Janice Huff and David Price, Telemundo 47 New York’s Rosarina Breton and David Rodriguez, NBC10 Boston’s Melody Mendez and NBC4 Washington’s Tommy McFly.

The production will use nearly 50 cameras positioned across land, water and air along the 16-mile parade route. Coverage will include cameras aboard participating vessels, including the Queen Mary 2 and the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Eagle, as well as aerial footage captured by drones, a helicopter and a blimp.

Spanish-language coverage will air on Telemundo from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET and on Universo and TeleXitos from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET. NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations also plan to air a Sail4th 250 highlights special at 7 p.m. ET ahead of the 50th anniversary broadcast of Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks.
