“Dateline” kicked off its 20th season Friday evening with an episode entitled “Ransom” that documented the kidnapping of Florida mother Quinn Gray.
Newly-appointed anchor Lester Holt hosted the show from a loft set. The open space features wood floors, exposed brick walls and windows overlooking a city street with the word “Dateline” projected on the side of a building.
In the video below, Holt says he’s “on location for this weeks Dateline,” so it’s unclear if this will be the new home.
Scattered throughout the space are various pieces of lighting equipment and a blue bin.
The location is an improvement over the previous season that used a cheap looking cityscape and window background.
The episode also included several promotional spots using the tagline “How do you Dateline?”
