‘Lanterns’
The internally lit header element in 1A and cube under the smaller anchor desk also have some ties to “lanterns” that were popular on NBC and MSNBC sets for years and originally created by Clickspring.
These internally lit, ceiling mounted elements still remain over the working newsroom area of MSNBC’s side of Studio 3A, and were also featured prominently on the firm’s original design of Studio 3B originally designed for the Brian Williams helmed newsmagazine “Rock Center.”
