Shotoku introduces new PTZ prompter panner system

Contributed Content / Press Release April 14, 2026

Shotoku Broadcast Systems is introducing its PTZ Prompter Panner (P2) at NAB 2026. The P2 is part of Shotoku’s Aura suite of PTZ-centric solutions and will be displayed alongside the TR-XPTZ control system at booth C3816.

The Aura range is one of several new products Shotoku is presenting at the event, including the North American debut of the Swoop robotic crane family and the launch of Quick-Ref, a referencing system designed for robotic pedestal navigation.

PTZ cameras are increasingly used in broadcast and high-end audiovisual settings, but their integration with teleprompters has been limited. Traditional setups restrict pan movement to prevent the prompter hood from appearing in the camera frame, limiting production flexibility.

The P2 addresses this limitation by mounting the prompter on a precision-controlled rotating platform. This design allows the prompter and PTZ camera to pan together as a single system, enabling full pan movement without frame intrusion.

The system supports larger PTZ and prompter payloads than previous solutions and delivers smooth, broadcast-quality movement. When paired with the TR-XPTZ control system, operators can manage prompter rotation and PTZ camera axes through one camera channel. This setup allows for manual or automated adjustments, shot storage, and recall without manual intervention.

James Eddershaw, CEO of Shotoku USA, said the distinction between broadcast and professional audiovisual markets has diminished, particularly in camera and lens remote control systems. He noted that the Aura system is a response to specific customer demands and represents a new ecosystem within Shotoku’s product offerings.

Aura complements Shotoku’s Swoop robotic crane family, making its North American debut, and the Quick-Ref system, which offers advancements in robotic pedestal navigation for Shotoku’s SmartPed and Swoop-SP platforms.
