CNN is offering its All Access streaming subscribers a chance to watch a curated collection of “Larry King Live” episodes from its archives.
Titled “The Best of Larry King Live,” the series launches April 17, 2026, and will post new episodes every Friday through June 19, 2026.
“For decades, Larry King Live brought viewers face-to-face with the people shaping our world,” said Amy Entelis, executive vice president for talent and content development, CNN Worldwide, in a statement. “This collection celebrates those unforgettable conversations, making them accessible to audiences in a new way.”
The network bills the series as a “curated collection of unforgettable interviews” with the late Larry King.
Viewers can expect to see clips from the show’s Beatles reunion with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, as well as interviews Donald and Melania Trump and Barack Obama, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Jerry Seinfeld and more.
King, who died in 2021, launched his nightly show June 3, 1985 and hosted his eponymous show until December 16, 2010.
The move to repackage classic content from its archives as fresh episodes to help power content-hungry streaming services is not a new concept. Other news-centric streaming and digital services have culled content from archives, often focusing on memorable events from the past. There have also been efforts to post an old newscast from the current date in a sort of “this day in history” approach.
For CNN, this could prove to be an interesting trial of sorts to see how well repackaged old content attracts viewers.
In this case, curating from separate episodes also allows the network to avoid showing interviews that didn’t hold up well to the test of time. Much of CNN’s content, outside of original series, is, by its very nature of being news, not very evergreen, so it makes strategic sense to pull from a show such as “Larry King Live,” especially since it attracted big-name celebrities and newsmakers who are still recognizable today.
