NBCUniversal awards $2.5 million to 80 nonprofits through Local Impact Grants

Comcast NBCUniversal and NBCUniversal Local have awarded $2.5 million to 80 nonprofit organizations through the 2026 NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants program.

The recipients serve communities in 11 markets where NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations operate. Since the grant program launched in 2018, NBCUniversal has awarded $24.3 million to 695 nonprofit organizations.

“We’re proud to celebrate this year’s Local Impact Grant recipients and continue our support of impactful nonprofits in our markets,” said Valari Staab, chairman of NBCUniversal Local, in a statement. “The impact of these organizations can be seen every day in the communities they serve, through the opportunities they create, the connections they build, and the lives they touch.”

Now in its ninth year, the competitive program provides unrestricted funding to eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Organizations applied in one of three categories: youth education and empowerment, next generation storytellers, and community engagement.

Applications for the 2026 grants were accepted from March 24 through April 24, 2026.

“Local nonprofit organizations help expand opportunity, strengthen community connections and create lasting impact,” said Jessica Clancy, senior vice president of corporate social responsibility at NBCUniversal. “Through the NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants, we support organizations that are addressing the unique needs of their communities, opening doors for future generations, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of people across the country.”

Recipients serve communities in New York, New York, through WNBC and WNJU; Los Angeles, California, through KNBC and KVEA; Chicago, Illinois, through WMAQ and WSNS; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, through WCAU and WWSI; Dallas, Texas, through KXAS and KXTX; Boston, Massachusetts, through WBTS and WNEU; Washington, D.C., through WRC and WZDC; San Francisco, California, through KNTV and KSTS; Miami, Florida, through WTVJ and WSCV; San Diego, California, through KNSD and KUAN; and Hartford, Connecticut, through WVIT and WRDM.
